According to the Chinese, a healthy digestive system is a guarantee of health for the whole body. Due to poor eating habits and excessive stress, we experience various types of stomach and intestinal ailments, which is why TIENS created Digest - natural food supplements that help maintain the proper functioning of the digestive system.

A Chinese proverb says: „The working capacity of the kidneys is innate, the stomach is acquired.“ In fact, stomach and digestive problems are usually our own fault. We do not exercise enough – our metabolism slows down, our lifestyle is stressful, we consume processed foods that contain a lot of preservatives, which destroys the bacterial microflora of the digestive tract. Good intestinal bacteria are very important for the proper functioning of the body. Beneficial probiotic bacteria (Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus) dominate the digestive tract of a healthy person. They are found in fermented dairy products, pharmaceuticals and prebiotics. Prebiotics are indigestible food components that stimulate the growth and activity of bacteria in the colon and improve the condition of the intestines. Inulin and several types of starch contained in prebiotic polysaccharides are resistant to digestive enzymes. Among the oligosaccharides with prebiotic properties, fructooligosaccharides (FOS) are also present.

According to another Chinese proverb, „If the stomach is not healthy, 100 other diseases will appear“. Therefore, proper nutrition supports well-being, and food products not only provide nutrients, but also help improve health. It is plant-based foods that are considered extremely beneficial for health and for this reason are called functional foods. Among the health-improving substances are dietary fiber, amino acids, proteins, vitamins and minerals, unsaturated fatty acids, choline and lecithin, as well as the already mentioned fermented bacteria and oligosaccharides of dairy products. A food supplement for the functioning of the digestive system contains most of these substances in its composition – they naturally support the proper functioning of the digestive tract.

The digestive system supplement "Digest" Tiens contains a lot of dietary fiber: inulin, apple pectin and cellulose, as well as flaxseed, anise and good bacteria: Bifidobacterium lactis and Lactobacillus acidophilus.

Dietary fiber, also known as dietary fiber, is a collection of various substances found in plants, including cellulose, lignin, or vegetable gums. Fiber, which is not digested by digestive enzymes, has a positive effect on its functions by absorbing water, swelling, and improving intestinal peristalsis. Pectins are water-soluble fibrous substances found in the cell walls of various plants. This dietary supplement contains apple pectin. It has been shown that daily consumption of 6 g of pectin helps maintain good cholesterol levels in the blood, and 10 g of pectin reduces the increase in blood glucose after eating.

Flax seeds, also known as linseed, are one of the most popular products used in natural medicine. The seeds contain many beneficial substances: unsaturated fatty acids, fiber, easily digestible proteins, vitamins B1 (helps ensure normal energy metabolism) and B6 (helps ensure normal protein and glycogen metabolism, homocysteine metabolism, cysteine synthesis), magnesium, calcium (helps reduce fatigue, ensure normal nervous system function, protein synthesis and electrolyte balance), iron (helps ensure normal energy metabolism, the formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin and oxygen transport in the body), zinc (helps ensure normal energy metabolism, acid-base metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism, DNA synthesis, microelement metabolism, fatty acid metabolism, normal protein synthesis, plays a role in the process of cell division and cell protection from oxidative stress), and also contains choline - one of the components of lecithin (helps ensure normal lipid metabolism and normal liver function.) Flax seeds are a valuable ingredient used in not only in food supplements, but also in medicine.
